UPDATE: Awin API ProductserveV3 Compatible
This site is composed entirely with Wordpress and the Affiliate Window Productserve Service wordpress plugin, phew, thats a long name, The Awin WP Plugin, thats better.
This will give you a self-updating website without ever having to touch databases, datafeeds, xml, api, csv, the list goes on.
Forget data, this plugin will do the lot, look at the list of requirements below, see if you fit the bill, and if so, then go ahead and buy it, it will change the way you do affiliate marketing forever.
With access to over 4,000,000 products from the affiliatewindow network, you can build small, tightly focussed sites, or, huge, multi-categoried sites, its up to you.
This plugin costs £23 and thats for the actual plugin plus a lifetime of upgrades.
What you need
An affiliatewindow account – if you don’t have one, click hereAffilliateWindow (opens in new window) to set one up, there is a one-off payment of £5 which is refunded with your first commission.
You need a productserve API password, available from affiliatewindow. (please make sure you have one of these before purchasing the plugin its found in your awin affiliate area, and its the V3 MD5 Hash password, if you don’t see it under your account passwords, then you don’t have one, and you won’t be able to use this plugin, however, the free version doesn’t require this)
You need a wordpress blog preferably 2.8+
You Can buy the plugin here if you have all you need.
Buy the Affiliate Window Wordpress Plugin Here Link
Currently the plugin is at Version 3.0 and the functionality of it is as follows:
NEW
Changes in this version 2.0
There is a new voucher code addition to the plugin!!!
To use it, just add sc=”y” cp=”b” to your shortcodes sc = showcodes (y=yes, to prevent showing codes, just don’t add the sc=”y”) cp= codes position (t for top, b for bottom, and the really exciting part s for sidebar.)
There’s also a sidebar widget included as well, which will show any discount codes available for the merchants featured on your product pages. (check out the sidebar at the right >>>)
You will of course need to visit your admin panel, go to appearance/widgets and either click to add the Awin Vouchers widget to your sidebar, or if you’re using WP 2.8, then just drag it over to where you want it.
There’s no need to include a + sign in your query any more, just write it as you would normally type it.
A new feature:
If you want to see what products a merchant has, then write a shortcode like this [ awin merchid="1234" no="100" sort="lo"] and you’ll get the first 100 products from that merchant sorted by price ascending. You can then use the awstart=”101″ in another shortcode to show the next 100 and so on.
NEW
An error checking system that will return a list of hotpicks from awin should your original products no longer be available, as well as sending an email to you to alert you of this fact.
A new shortcode to show an individual product with or without the merchants details (an example) the shortcode is this [ ap prodid="40730507" sdtl="y"].
Add a site-wide clickref to the admin panel, so you know where your sales are coming from.
Installation: NEW Admin Panel
Unzip the file which you receive after payment and,
Upload the entire affiliatewindow folder to your plugins directory /wp-content/plugins
Go to your admin dashboard and activate the Affiliate Window ProductServe Service plugin.
Look in your settings for Awin WP Plugin and input your api password and your affiliate id, the default size for images, the default number of products per page, and separately, for the homepage, default category id (for sites built in a vertical) and save.
(NEW FOR 1.5.6 define number of columns on the homepage, define length of text visible on the homepage)

WP Plugin 1.4.2
After installation, the following applies:
In your posts or pages, include the following wherever you want to display products
awin id=”139″ query=”adidas” no=”20″ sort=”hi” merchid=”1857″ awstart=”1″ price=”40_60″
a) id is the awin category id, a list of which are in the Categories datafeed found here:
http://www.panfashion.co.uk/05/list-of-affiliate-window-categories-and-ids/
b) query is self explanatory and should have no whitespace, use a + instead of a space.
c) no is the number of products you want to return
d) sort is also self explanatory, here are the possible sort options.
Sort variables:
az – Alphabetical increasing
za – Alphabetical decreasing
hi – By price, decreasing
lo – By price, increasing
popularity – By popularity, decreasing
relevancy – More relevant products to the specified query will appear first
e) merchid is the specific merchant id
f) awstart is the number that you want your results to start from (eg, you could have two pages for the kona shred bike,
awin id=”0″ query=”kona+shred” no=”10″ sort=”hi” awstart=”1″
on one page, then
awin id=”0″ query=”kona+shred” no=”10″ sort=”hi” awstart=”11″
on the next page.
g) price is a range, eg. between £50 and £100 is written like this 50_100
h) isize is the height and width of the image that you require, it defaults to 200 X 200 pixels
The only required variable is query, the others default to:
id = 0
no = 10
sort = popularity
merchid = none
awstart = 1
price = 0_100000
merchid = 0 (all merchants)
isize=200×200
The anatomy of the query.
You can use anything in the query box like so:
Every query must begin with
awin and end with
Eg1.
awin query=”platinum+wedding+ring”
this will show you 10 products (the default) with the keywords platinum wedding ring from all categories (again, the default) sorted by relevancy (default)
You can add as many parameters to the query as you like:
Eg2.
awin query=”platinum+wedding+ring” sort=”hi”
this will show you 10 products (the default) with the keywords platinum wedding ring and will sort by price high to low
Eg3.
awin query=”platinum+wedding+ring” sort=”hi” no=”25″
this will sort by price hi to low and return 25 products (assuming there are 25 products)
Eg4.
awin query=”platinum+wedding+ring” sort=”hi” no=”25″ merchid=”2174″
as above but limited to merchant id 2174 (goldsmiths)
Eg5.
awin query=”platinum+wedding+ring” no=”25″ id=”540″ merchid=”2174″ sort=”lo”
as above but with the category id added and a different sort option, in this case price low to high

Sorry i have posted this question on one of your other sites, but i am not sure which one get the most attention. I love the idea of using this plugin for my site and was wondering if it would be possible to use multiple merchants to create a post. I was looking at your posts and they are say Fire Trap jeans from USC – would it be possible to display all Fire Trap jeans from all merchants on the AW network?
#2 by admin at June 23rd, 2009
Both Sites get my attention, in fact, all of my sites do
I’ll run you out a page on this site showing you how it’s possible to mix and match from all networks and merchants for your query. (Well, the networks that I have released plugins for)

Great plugin.
In fact, I just built a new Wordpress site in the last few days. …. http://www.gogohamster.com.
It is a new product, so at this time there aren’t many stockists, but the beauty of the plugin is that as more stockists carry the product my site will auto-update.
Thanks for developing it.

Hi
I’ve looked thru’ you’re site and I’m very interested in your plug ins. You say “this site” is using AW plug in and other plugs ins.
Can you tell me where I can find details of all the plug ins available please.
Derek
#5 by admin at July 13th, 2009
Hi Derek, the Tradedoubler and Linkshare plugins are on this page http://www.panfashion.co.uk/category/the-plugin/
#6 by Mike at July 28th, 2009
Hi,
Can you use this plugin on a Wordpress hosted blog, or do you need to have your own install?
#7 by admin at July 29th, 2009
Mike, the best way to find out would be to download the free version, and try it out.

Can the affiliate links back to AW be cloaked?
#9 by dean at August 14th, 2009
Hi Im ready to buy, but dont see anywhere of its been updated to work with V3 of Affiliate Window. Im not allowed to increase my V2 quota as its not being supported by AW, so need a version that will work on V3 of AW. As soon as i hear i will buy
#10 by admin at August 15th, 2009
Hi Dean, I’m just finishing off the upgrade to V3 and this will be ready tomorrow morning (16th August)
#11 by joycellyn at August 16th, 2009
Hi,
I’d like to have a ’shop’ page with the links for products from affiliate window on, as opposed to having the products mix in with the rest of my site – is this possible?
#12 by dean at August 16th, 2009
Hi,
I dont see any reference on the plugin purchase site that it has been upgraded yet, so just wanna confirm if i buy i will in fact get the V3 capable version.
(finger hovering over purchase button)
#13 by admin at August 17th, 2009
Dean, I can confirm that the version of the plugin is now V3 ready (furthermore, it doesn’t work with V2 anymore)
#14 by admin at August 17th, 2009
Hi Jocellyn, as it’s a plugin that utilises a shortcode then it can only be used within a wordpress page or post, however, you could create a page called ‘Shop’ then create subpages off that ‘Shop’ page to create a kind of separate shop area of your site.
#15 by Dean at August 17th, 2009
Hi,
I just bought the AWIN plugin, as it has been upgraded to V3, but the version i downloaded is V2 from your download link in the email. Can you forward me the V3 version please
#16 by admin at August 17th, 2009
Hi Dean, new version sent.

#17 by Mike at August 24th, 2009
Hi,
We have just upgraded to v3 of this plugin. The v2 plugin returned results for category ID 113 (fragrances) as required. We haven’t changed the short codes, but now this category filtering no longer works and we’re getting results from EVERYWHERE, not just cat ID 113. Why is this?
#18 by Mike at August 24th, 2009
Update to previous comment – I’ve gone back to the initial release of the v3 plugin and it works now.
#19 by admin at August 24th, 2009
Hi Mike, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, been a hectic weekend, I’m glad it’s working the way it should be
#20 by irfan at September 3rd, 2009
Hi,
I have just purchased the plugin, however after installing it, and trying the query, i am getting the following error:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /wp-content/plugins/affiliatewindow/affiliatewindow.php on line 409
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /wp-content/plugins/affiliatewindow/affiliatewindow.php on line 444
Could you please help here.
Thanks
#21 by admin at September 3rd, 2009
Irfan, have you enabled V3 of the API in affiliate window?
#22 by purple at September 15th, 2009
Hi is it possible to link the product search into tags.
i.e I write about a blog post about Adidas Trainers, and add the tag adidas.
Would it be possible to automatically add the tag to the shortcode.
What I am trying to do is basically add the awin plugin to the bottom of each post and automatically add related content via the tag option.
I have a query re ur icodes plugin too, but will put it on email but forgot ur email address

Hi Tony
I know there is a sidebar widget for this plugin but is there code so i can manually insert the system into the sidebar rather than using the widget function?
Thanks
Ash
#24 by admin at October 7th, 2009
Ash, not too sure what you mean, there’s a sidebar widget for the voucher codes, but not for the product display, if you like, I can write a bit of code for the sidebar, but, it will have to rely on either a post category, or a post tag to populate with products that are relevant to the page or post.
Let me know how you want it laid out, and I’ll get on the case this afternoon.
Tony
#25 by Chrome Sockets at October 7th, 2009
Hi tony
Sorry my mistake. If you could provide the code to display products in the sidebar that would be good.
Personally i’d like a narrow single column display say 160 x 600 typesize.
Now i have some merchant codes within my posts custom fields so i’m guessing i could make the sidebar display content relating to these merchants.
I think i’d probably be able to hack the code to suit my needs if you could provide me with a starting point.
#26 by Chrome Sockets at October 7th, 2009
I have another suggestion for a good (imo at least) improvement.
The option / ability to add a custom ‘buy it now’ button to the display.
#27 by admin at October 7th, 2009
OK Ash, tomorrow morning I’ll get on the case, and hopefully provide some code that will do what you require.
#28 by Rose at October 10th, 2009
Just buy your plugin. Thank you.
#29 by Rose at October 10th, 2009
Hi,
I am getting this error:
You are missing the PHP SoapClient. Please re-compile PHP with Soap enabled
Please advise, how should I do to fix.
Thank you.
#30 by admin at October 10th, 2009
Hi Rose, you need to ask your hosting provider to enable the SOAP protocol on the server, or, to upgrade their version of PHP to a more recent version.
If I can refer you to the plugin requirements found on the page you purchased it from:
System requirements :
The Affiliate Window WordPress plugin is undemanding;
* WordPress Blog 2.8+
* SOAP Enabled (Most hosts are)
* Remote URL file access
* ShopWindow v3 API key
http://www.wpaffiliateplugins.com/index.php/about/affiliate-window-wordpress-plugin/
#31 by Rose at October 10th, 2009
I will contact my web host. Thank you very much.
#32 by Rose at October 11th, 2009
Hi admin,
Sorry to bother you again.
I am now manage to get script up and running ( have to install custom PHP5 on my host to enable Soap) but seem like I have another problem.
I have add the following code to my post for lcd tvs:
[awin id="46" query="lcd+tvs" no="10" sort="popularity" merchid="0" awstart="1" price="300_1000"]
This to query only “lcd tvs” from any merchant with the price from 300 – 1000 but I also get other products like “Tea At Harrods for Two”, “Nintendo” and “Adidas” list on my page.
Please kindly advise what I have to do to fix this.
Thank you.
#33 by admin at October 11th, 2009
Rose, you simply have to replace the + from your query with a space, as of V3 then the searches are boolean, and the + sign is no longer needed. (the results you have are the default hotpick products, for when nothing is found for your query)
I’m glad you got it working.
Tony
PS. It’s no bother at all
#34 by Chrome Sockets at October 13th, 2009
Hi Tony
Did you get a chance to look into that coding for me?
Cheers
Ash
#35 by admin at October 13th, 2009
Ash, I’d forget my head if it wasn’t attached at the neck, I’ll have a look tomorrow, can you drop me an email in the morning, just to give me a kick in the right direction?

After purchasing the plugin and downloading from the link provided I could not unzip it.
I get stuck in a loop where the zip file extracts to affiliatewindow3.1.zip.cpgz and then back to affiliatewindow3.1.zip
I’ve tried on 3 separate occasions emailing sales@wpaffiliateplugins.com, but got no response… Please help?
#37 by admin at October 30th, 2009
Mark, can you email me admin@currentstyle.co.uk and we’ll sort this out. Tony

Received working version via email from Tony. Thanks.
#39 by Brian at November 7th, 2009
Just purchased and am trying to install on several sites.
On my hostgator it worked with no problem, but I cannot get it to work on my other hosting accounts.
On my main hosting, it simply displays nothing, infact seems to stop the code and displays nothing beyond where the tag is installed on the post.
Any suggetsions where I should begin debugging this?
On a UK2.net hosted site it displays the same eror message previously reported by irfan:
—
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/petshopp/public_html/wp-content/plugins/affiliatewindow/affiliatewindow.php on line 409

I know that Affiliate Window is set up ok, since it works on hostgator.
Any other suggestions for this error?

Also I wonder how can I have a post like this http://www.panfashion.co.uk/11/bargains-6-off-from-comet/
#41 by admin at November 8th, 2009
Brian, I know it may seem obvious, but, have you filled in your details in the plugin admin panel?
#42 by admin at November 8th, 2009
Hi, that post is created by the iCodes wordpress plugin, like this one is and many others on this site http://www.panfashion.co.uk/11/unmissable-5-off-from-tribal-uk/
Details of the plugin are here: http://www.wpaffiliateplugins.com/index.php/about/icodes-wordpress-plugin-uk/
#43 by jk at November 8th, 2009
Actually I think that this kind of posts was build with this plugin because on your sales pages says “See this site for a site almost exclusively powered by the Affiliate Window WordPress Plugin.” http://www.wpaffiliateplugins.com/index.php/about/affiliate-window-wordpress-plugin/
Also the sidebar widget not working.
#44 by Brian at November 14th, 2009
Anumber of my sites are on hosts that do not suppotr SOAP, so no way forward with them.
However I do wish to try to get this going on my UK2.net hosted site which throws out the eror previously mentioned, and copied below.
Any suggestions how I fix that?
Brian

The internet moves along, as does this site, when I created the plugin, this site was exclusively created by the awin plugin, then I developed other plugins, and wanted to test them in conjunction with the awin plugin, so, this site has evolved.
#47 by Keith at December 31st, 2009
Nice plugin.
Quick Question before I buy: Say I have a feed with a few hundred products, can I auto import them all? – Please email me.
#48 by admin at December 31st, 2009
Keith, the plugin doesn’t import anything, it reads the product data live from the Affiliate Window Servers, therefore you have access to over 4 million products without having to run a database.
